By raising money for important research, programs and student support, building engagement and creating partnerships, the Development and Alumni Relations team propels UC Davis that much closer to achieving our mission as a land-grant university. The mission to better understand our relationship to one another and to our planet has led to 100 years of an unparalleled, multi-disciplinary approach focused on one thing: improving our world.
Excellence Awards
We believe it is vital to recognize the excellence of our employees who are helping to make this mission a reality. To celebrate excellence HERE, we have a three-pronged Excellence Awards program:
On the Spot Acknowledgement
This component of the Excellence Awards program provides participants with beautiful notecards that colleagues can use to give handwritten acknowledgements to their peers for their accomplishments!
Quarterly Excellence Awards
Each quarter at the DEVAR Division meeting, nine individuals out of the nominee pool are randomly drawn to receive a quarterly excellence award. To encourage colleagues to submit nominations, one nominator is also drawn at random to receive a quarterly excellence award.
Annual Excellence Awards
These awards are given once a year and feature six categories with one winner per category. The categories are: Customer Service Award, Behind the Scenes Impact Award, Collaborator Award, Aggie Pride Award, Leadership Award and Employee of the Year Award. These awards serve as a more formal way to recognize employees for consistent excellence throughout the year. Winners are announced at the Fall DEVAR Division Meeting.
Current employees can find more information here.
Regional and National Recognition
Not only do DEVAR employees excel and receive recognition internally, they are acknowledged by other entities for their excellent work. At the 2018 CASE District VII Conference, UC Davis was presented with 38 total awards in development, marketing and communication projects. For the second year in a row, we have totaled the most awards by an institution in District VII, which include institutions from California, Arizona, Nevada, Utah and Hawaii, as well as Guam and the Northern Mariana Islands.
