About

In fall 2015 leaders at UC Davis put forth an initial call for Big Ideas to help solve society’s greatest challenges. Faculty, staff and students offered submissions and input on how the university could positively impact the world and offer donors the opportunity to make a meaningful difference. In 2018 a second targeted call for Big Ideas was made, in an effort to fully represent the strength and breadth of UC Davis and further accelerate the university’s strategic plan.

Six Big Ideas have now been selected as flagship UC Davis priorities: Aggie Launch, the Center for Violence Prevention Research, Healthy Aging in a Digital World, the One Climate Initiative, Smart Farm and the Veterinary Medical Center. Together, the Big Ideas align with the university’s strategic plan and highlight the breadth of expertise at UC Davis
